Tyler Rathjen has a wealth of expertise in all things advertising, marketing, branding and public relations. Tyler began his career with Decibel Blue in 2006 where he quickly rose through the ranks to account executive and senior account executive positions before being named the agency’s director of integrated marketing in 2013.Tyler’s proficiency in all marketing disciplines enables him to provide strategic counsel to clients in a wide range of industries, with an emphasis on multi-unit and franchise concepts. He has lead projects for nationally recognized brands including PetSmart, Floyd’s 99 Barbershops, Cox Communications, Baskin-Robbins and Dunkin’ Donuts, where he has overseen the launch of more than 70 restaurants in the Southwest. Tyler’s client work has also been recognized nationally by the OBIE Award for outdoor advertising excellence and the MarCom Awards for top marketing campaigns, to name a few.Based in the Phoenix office, Tyler has also played an integral role in growing Decibel Blue’s presence in their Denver location.
Tyler has a bachelor’s degree in marketing from Arizona State University’s W.P. Carey School of Business. He currently sits on the board of the Phoenix Suns 88 Charities as the communications committee chair as a “Big Gorilla.” He is passionate about education-related causes since his wife Victoria has been a public school teacher for many years.An Iowa native, Tyler has two daughters and a son that more than keep him on his toes. He is a sports fanatic, cheering passionately for his Nebraska Cornhuskers and Chicago Cubs (FINALLY!).
As Agency Director and Founder at Decibel Blue, Diane Eichler brings more than 20 years of experience in branding, marketing and advertising on both the client and agency side. After launching her career at acclaimed LA-based design agency, COY, Diane took a director of marketing position at Toyota Motor Sales, where she later transitioned to agency lead for the
North American launch of the Toyota Prius, Celica, Spyder and ECHO models. Since then, her experience has encompassed a variety of industries, including real estate, technology,banking and finance, healthcare and wellness, nonprofit, education, automotive, sports and entertainment, telecommunications, QSR, retail, law, broadcasting and hospitality.Diane has been consistently recognized within her industry, winning awards for several advertising, marketing and public relations campaigns. Notably, Decibel Blue was named the nation’s top integrated communications agency by PR Daily in 2014.
Diane actively participates in philanthropic initiatives in both Phoenix and Denver. She was recently a board member for the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation’s Rocky Mountain Chapter, and is also a member of the Phoenix Suns Charities 88 and Denver Basics, where she serves as a business coach. Diane holds a Bachelor’s Degree from Scripps College in Claremont, California, and in her spare time, she enjoys travel, playing with her circus dogs, biking, and learning all there is to know about Airstreams.
Andrea Kalmanovitz specializes in crisis communication and issues management, traditional media relations, corporate internal communications and social media campaigns, with a background in grassroots public affairs. Andrea began her career in public affairs with the number one ranked non-publicly traded boutique agency in Southern California. Her expertise includes health/wellness, food and beverage, retail, and real estate. In providing public relations strategy, Andrea’s client portfolio ranges from non-profit organizations to Fortune 500 companies.In recognition of her achievements, Andrea has received public relations industry awards for campaigns including Harrah’s Entertainment, D.R. Horton’s and the Tiger Woods Learning Center. On the client side, Andrea was the Director of Public Relations and Media for a real estate developer with $1.8 billion in projects throughout the Southwest. In 2009, she co-founded a PR and marketing consulting firm that led national media relations initiatives for clients including Realty Executives International, a global real estate franchisor, and Local Motors, an international automotive co creation company.In 2012, Andrea merged her firm with Decibel Blue Creative Marketing & PR where she heads the Public Relations division.Through Decibel Blue’s creative and strategic approach, Andrea has successfully garnered national awareness for campaigns ranging from Next Care Urgent Care’s expansion into its eighth U.S. state, to launching a start-up health and beauty brand in Colorado and Texas.
As an active member of the community, Andrea was a Board of Director for Friends of Animal Care and Control, a founding
volunteer of former Mayor Phil Gordon’s Phoenix Global Trade Initiatives, and the managing director for TRACares Foundation, a 501(c)3 supporting sustainable communities in Africa. Andrea graduated from the University of California at Santa Barbara with a Bachelor of Arts in Communications and an emphasis in Interpersonal Communications, and she is a member of the Public Relations Society of America. She and her husband, Joe, have twin daughters and a son. She is an advocate of food allergy awareness, and has turned whole food cooking into a hobby.
Founder and Creative Director.David proudly calls himself a “mutt,” thanks to a career that has included a wide spectrum
of roles and industries. After graduating from Wesleyan University (CT), David began an 11-year-tour-of-duty in Hollywood developing and writing screenplays, as well as overseeing the production and marketing of features at Warner Bros., Disney, Paramount, and 20th Century Fox, including “Rapid Fire”, “Free Willy 2”, “Broken Arrow”, and “Murder at 1600.”
Ready (and then some) for a new adventure, David enlisted for the dot-com revolution in 2000, first joining a startup venture in Palo Alto as V.P. of Content, and then as the Director of Brand Marketing for an enterprise-software company servicing Fortune 100 clients. After moving to Phoenix, he tackled marketing and public relations assignments in the arts, tourism, public and private sectors before founding Decibel Blue in 2005. His agency has been honored with an IMPACT Award and has also been a winner or finalist for the OBIE Outdoor Award and the Spirit of Enterprise Award, as well as numerous MarComs and Copper Anvils. In 2014, PR Daily recognized Decibel Blue as the nation’s top integrated communications agency with its ACE Award. A watershed year indeed, this was also the year when Decibel Blue expanded to Denver.
David is a member of the Phoenix Business Journal’s 2007 class of “40 under 40,” and has served as a judge for the past seven years of the competition. He sits on the Endowment Board for Arizona State University’s Walter Cronkite School of
Journalism and Mass Communication, where he has also taught. He is a member of the Downtown Denver Partnership’s 2016 Leadership Program, and his perspective has been featured in Forbes.com, MSNBC.com, E! Online, US Weekly, the Denver Business Journal, and the Phoenix Business Journal. He regularly speaks on or moderates panels for the Phoenix Chamber of Commerce, and has penned guest columns for Dun & Bradstreet’s AllBusiness.com, O’Dwyers, PR News, and AZ Business Magazine — which recognized him in 2014, 2015 and 2016 as one of Arizona’s top business leaders. He currently sits on the board of Project Helping and recently completed the Downtown Denver Leadership Program.When he isn’t collecting speeding tickets, taking pictures, staring down buffalo or rolling around with tiger cubs, David and his wife like to travel, attend Avalanche and Broncos games, and play with their two circus dogs, Bam Bam and Cali. Yes, they really are like the ones you saw spinning and hopping in Ringling Bros.
